Impact
Based in Atlanta, The Yuvaan Tiwari Foundation funds research to find a cure for diffuse midline gliomas and other fatal pediatric brain cancers. They also make a difference in the lives of afflicted families by offering resources and financial assistance to enable a better quality of life.
In 2022, Ritvik raised $300 for this cause. We plan to raise more money for the Yuvaan Tiwari Foundation by selling plants, so that they can possibly find a cure for DMG, and support families enduring it.
"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." - Malcolm X
Shirdi Sai Baba School (SSBS) is a non-profit organization in Northern India which educates and supports more than 2000 underprivileged kids by providing quality education, nutritious food, uniforms, books, study material, and health care at no cost to the students' parents.
Plants for Purpose aims to sell plants in order to sponsor children's education at SSBS. In 2023, we have funded education for one young girl in hopes to provide wings for her to fly and dream big. Our goal is to sponsor many more kids in the future
Propagation and Potting of a Pothos Plant
Choose a healthy and mature pothos plant for propagation. Healthy vines with at least a few leaves tend to root more successfully.
Take a cutting that is 4-6 inches long. Ensure that the cutting has at least 2-3 leaves and a node. The node is a small bump on the stem where the roots will develop.
Submerge the cut end of the pothos cutting in a jar or glass of water, ensuring that the node is completely submerged. Place the container in a bright, indirect light location.
Several plants can be placed together in one large container. After around three to four weeks, healthy roots will have grown, and the plant will be ready for potting.
Roots should begin to develop in a few weeks. Once the roots are a few inches long, the cutting is ready to be planted in soil.
Fill the pot about one-third to one-half full with the appropriate potting mix.
Position the plant in the center of the pot. Add more potting mix around the sides of the plant until the roots are covered and the plant is secure. Leave a little space between the top of the soil and the rim of the pot to allow for watering.
Water the plant thoroughly to help settle the soil and eliminate air pockets. Allow excess water to drain out through the bottom.
